In modern society it is not always easy to meet new people at work or in the traditional social circles so with that in mind I started going to dinners at Jan’s Dinner Club SA just to meet people and have a good evening out with like minded people.

On the 29th July 2016 I went the Dinner Club South Africa without any expectations. All I wanted to do is have a delicious dinner and meet some new people. I arrived rather late and most people had already arrived and had formed groups where they were able to get to know each other. I poured myself a glass of wine and started mingling. I saw a young lady that I thought looked interesting but she was already in a group of people and they were chatting so I did not want to break the chat that they were having. This is where Jan’s dinner’s are great because even if you are not able to talk to everyone at the beginning of the dinner you are still able to get to meet them as you move from table to table.

At dinner, Jan had me seated at the furthermost table from the young lady that I had spotted. But it did not worry me because there were other very interesting people at my table. None of the people I met at the other tables interested me for dating purposes but they were very interesting people to chat to.

The dinner continued and I moved from table to table as we were served each course and finally I got to the last table where the young lady was sitting. Unfortunately one of the other guys at my table ran to the table to sit right next to the young lady but I got to sit opposite her. Within a couple of minutes everyone at the table introduced themselves to each other and I found out that her name was Jane. Jane and I clicked immediately so much so that we forgot about everyone else at the table and just spoke to each other. It was a great ending to the evening.

At the end of the evening I went to Jan and asked if she could ask Jane the next day if I could have her number and call her. I do not believe in asking for her number immediately because I feel that sometimes girls feel like they have to give out their numbers even though they are not interested.

The next day Jane said that I could phone her and Jan gave me her number. We had our first official date 3 days later and got engaged a year later and married shortly after that. We have been together for over 3 years now I we could not be happier. I would like to thank Jan for enabling us to meet each other and I hope many more people will be able to find what we have.

It was on a cool Friday evening in July 2013 that I decided to join Jan’s dinner party and meet a few single people like myself. Little did I expect to find the man of my dreams!!!! After enjoying a wonderful evening of small talk and savoring Jan’s delicious food I finally met Graham as I was saying my goodbyes. Poor Graham did not get a chance to talk to me during the evening but took the opportunity to walk me to my car, we chatted briefly and like a true gentleman asked if he could call me during the week. We had our first dinner date and since then are inseparable. Today we are the happiest couple, married, madly in love and committed to spending the rest of our lives embraced in each other’s arms. True love is out there thank’s to people like Jan Mannix who help connect people in this special way.

If ever we were meant to be, coincidence got it’s chance and here we are as newly weds embraced in each others arms.

I love the way your fingers move and intertwine with mine, the way you hug me at those times, to tell me all is fine.

It doesn’t take the things you say to always make me smile, you’re my kid’s new dad, my soulmate too, my lover and best friend.

I love it when you’re here with me, and miss you when you leave, to put it simply, clearly, you’re the very air I breathe.

I guess here’s what I’d like to say:

I’ll love you all my life and I’m so happy that you chose me for your wife.
